During my undergraduate program, I joined different learning groups that were really helpful during my first year of teaching. These groups gave me access to many resources and materials used in classrooms. Now, as we go through the ADL program, I think working together in our collaborative groups, discussions, and engaging with other students and professors are key to succeeding in the program.
Learning Networks:
Edutopia- This page is a valuable resource hub for educators, offering numerous resources on project-based learning, technology integration, social-emotional learning, and more.
edWeb- This is an excellent platform for collaborating with others, where teachers can connect, share resources, and exchange ideas.
National Science Teaching Association- This site is a valuable resource for learning about teaching science through webinars, videos, articles, including lesson plans, and instructional materials.
Reading Rockets- This site is packed with classroom strategies, lesson ideas for reading and writing, as well as resources for literature at home.
In these communities, I'll be utilizing the resources available to enhance my teaching and support my students. In return, I'll contribute by sharing any resources I develop, including activities, worksheets, and various projects. I believe that these learning communities are essential not only for school but in my career. As a teacher I have a community around me in my school, but by looking out we get a variety of perspectives that we may not see if we do not expand our learning communities.
