Alternate PL- Call To Action
We’ve all experienced it: professional learning (PL) sessions that fall short of their potential. They often fail to address the diverse needs of all teachers, leading to content that isn't relevant to everyone. Additionally, these sessions are frequently too short to allow for adequate practice and mastery of new strategies. The initial learning is rarely revisited, and there is usually a lack of ongoing support when it is needed most, particularly during the critical implementation phase. These issues can make PL less effective and prevent teachers from truly benefiting from the training. However, togetherwe can change this!

The Story Behind the Story
To effectively convey my message, I needed to carefully consider why improving professional learning is crucial for my organization. As a relatively new teacher, I recognize the untapped potential in our current professional development. After reflecting on the importance of this improvement, I also had to think about how to implement it and identify the tools and strategies that would make me most effective. For my innovation plan to succeed, it's essential that I present PL in a way that engages teachers and encourages them to invest in their own learning.
