ePortfolio Wrap Up: Everything Comes Together

As we finish the semester, I stand back and look at all of the progress made on my ePortfolio in just 8 weeks. At first, it truly was challenging to maneuver Wix and bring to life the ideas I had in my mind. As I look through my ePortfolio now, it is extremely close to what I pictured and I have learned to accept that even if it is not exactly as I would like it to be now, this is a never ending process of improvement. 

During these 8 weeks I have worked on creating and improving my ePortfolio. While I had already used Wix.com before to create other pages in other courses, I believe this is the first time that I actually explored the various tools this website has to offer. Before starting the ADL program, my websites were very simple with only a home page and maybe an about me page. In order to be successful in this course, I had to add much more than that. Initially, in my week 4 check-in I used my About Me page as the home page, but since then I created an entirely different page which describes some of the elements that will be found on my ePortfolio such as My Blog and my Innovation Plan, this page can be found here.

  A major part of our ePortfolio class was creating a blog in which we would create both research and non researched posts. After the check-in post in week 4, I actually went back and revised my blog posts in order to make them easier to follow and corrected/added a few references per the feedback I received. Through the creation of this blog, I was able to discover a very helpful tool that I had never explored before, AI. About half of the images I use in my blog were created using AI with only a few keywords. Some of these AI created images can be found in posts like Using AI, My Innovation Project and Want to Innovate? To name a few.

Another major part of my ePortfolio is my Innovation Plan. In this page you will find all of the elements that were created in the 5305 course. This includes, the Proposal, Literature Review, Implementation Outline, and an Annotative Bibliography. Since there were so many different elements that make up the innovation plan, I knew I wanted to add a dropdown menu for easy navigation. I actually struggled for a few days to be able to do this because it was not easy to find. Eventually I used the Help option and continued using it whenever needed. For the pages that make up my Innovation Plan, I used a variety of layouts depending on what it was used for. For example the layout for the Annotative Bibliography allowed me to space out the different resources separately, with a note about why have an annotative bibliography on the side. For the check-in post I still had not completed some of these elements but had pages created for when they were done and ready to be posted. Now, as I look at my Innovation Plan page, I see everything coming together. 

Over these past 8 weeks, I have really tried to embrace my ePortfolio and create something that I will want to send to my current/future employers. I have learned that creating an ePortfolio means on-going improvement and never ending progression. This ePortfolio will document the rest of my learning journey not just throughout my time in the ADL program but beyond that as well.
