As I complete my second semester of the ADL program I believe I have learned a lot already. I have gained multiple strategies and learned more about a growth mindset, all of which I plan to incorporate in my classroom with my students. Growth vs fixed mindset might seem slightly complex for young students to understand, but from completing this class I did find resources and different ways to present growth mindset to my students such as the power of “yet” and childrens books/videos.
I plan to incorporate the COVA model into my ePortfolio by taking ownership over it and using this authentic learning experience to express my voice. I think by allowing us to have choice over practically every aspect of the ePortfolio we are truly able to make it our own. Since this is the first time I experienced this model of learning, I was slightly nervous to create something so significant without too much instruction or restrictions. Instead of being intimidated by this I believe it gives us a real opportunity to dig deep and reach our full potential.
There are so many lessons that I have learned already, but I believe the most valuable has been the power our mindset has over our success. I find myself really trying to stay away from the fixed mentality when I catch it and think whatever it is, it's simply something I have not mastered yet but eventually I will. Having this growth mindset is not only beneficial in education or teaching but also in all aspects of life as well.

It is awesome to hear about your progress in the ADL program! Your reflections on the program's impact are insightful.
Your focus on incorporating growth mindset into your classroom is an amazing plan and your students will benefit so much. It's great that you've already identified practical strategies like the power of "yet" and children's literature to introduce this concept to your students. A growth mindset is undoubtedly a powerful tool for both students and educators.
The COVA Strategy is defiantly one that we should all try out in our learning settings. Embracing ownership and autonomy in creating your ePortfolio is a valuable learning experience. It's impressive that you've been able to overcome initial nervousness and turn it into an opportunity for growth.
The realization…
