As I complete my second semester of the ADL program, I reflect on the knowledge I have gained and lessons learned. In both 5304 and 5302, I tried to engage in all discussions with others by responding to prompts and responding to classmates to the best of my abilities. Last semester I believed I could improve on engaging in the discussions more. While I still believe this is an area of growth for me, I tried to engage more and respond to different classmates. I will continue to work on more actively engaging in the discussions and making sure that I respond in a timely manner so others may respond to me as well.

I was very lucky to have found a great collaborative group of ladies last semester and we continued to collaborate in our courses. I worked with Faith Lopez and Paige Shaw, by collaborating on blog posts, assignments and our ePortfolios. Working with them has made this a smooth and positive experience, thanks to their support and the availability of assistance whenever I needed help. It is amazing to see how much progress we have made in only two semesters. We started developing our sites and innovation plans in our previous courses and as we add more and more to our sites and blogs we can see everything coming together. We also plan on continuing to collaborate with each other as we continue through this program.

In both courses I attended almost all meetings. I believe these meetings are extremely valuable since we are able to see exactly what we need to do before turning in assignments. While I know many of these assignments align with the COVA framework by allowing us to have more freedom to create and use our voices, it is very helpful to see examples and hear from professors what they are expecting. I will continue to attend these meetings if I am able and even when I can’t the video recording is very useful as well. I also completed all required readings and watched the videos, which were helpful in creating insightful discussion posts and assignments.

As for assignments, I completed all assignments by their due dates. I believe I only turned in one assignment late in 5304 by about 1 minute. While this is great, I want to improve on this by trying to complete assignments earlier and receiving feedback from my collaborative group or when given the opportunity by the professor. I was very happy with my grades on my assignments this semester and as we progressed through these 8 weeks I did go back and reorganize them on my ePortfolio. One thing I also went back and edited quite a bit was formatting and making sure that it is pleasing to the reader and not hard on the eyes as I received and applied that feedback from the ePortfolio course. I also believe I must improve on ensuring that I am using APA to cite all sources not only on assignments but also in my discussions as well.

Going through the accelerated ADL program is challenging, but I also believe it helps me create more connections within the courses. By taking two courses at once, I am able to really see how they come together and how everything we are assigned will contribute to the ongoing development of my innovation plan.

I plan to continue to reflect on these assignments including the growth mindset plan and the organizational change strategy as I develop my innovation plan and prepare for implementation.

For these reasons I will score myself 90/100 in 5302 and 88/100 in 5304. I firmly believe that there is always room for growth. Having experienced significant development in just one semester, I look forward to continuing this journey and achieving even more growth.
